Michel Merten
Founder and CEO
Michel Merten is the founder and CEO of Memnon Archiving Services.
He initially graduated from the Solvay Business School in Brussels in 1985, with a specialization in finances. He also followed courses in Art History, specifically in Egyptian and Mesopatamian studies.
He has been working for several years in a major multinational corporation, Exxon Chemical, in various marketing and management functions in Europe.
In 1994, he left Exxon Chemical to join a start-up company dedicated to Classical Music recording and postproduction, Musica Numeris, which has since become a reference in Europe recording artists like Barbara Hendricks, Jordi Savall, and many more, …
In 2001, he was named Managing Director of the Maison de la Radio in Brussels, a large renovation and rehabilitation project of the original Belgian Radio House built in 1934, which became after its rehabilitation a major concert and cultural venue in Brussels.
Michel Merten is giving regular speeches in conferences related to audiovisual archiving, focussing on the necessity of teaming up efforts between the private and the public sector to successfully face the challenges of the audiovisual preservation.
